In Memoriam: Patrick W. Gault
Patrick W. Gault, a founding member of Napier Gault Schupbach & Stevens, passed away on August 8, 2024.
A graduate of Duke University (BA, 1990) and the University of Kentucky (JD, 1993), Patrick began his legal career at Weber & Rose. Patrick’s skill, work ethic and leadership qualities quickly earned him partnership and a seat on the firm’s Executive Committee.
In 2008, Patrick and longtime friend and colleague Tim Napier achieved their goal of starting their own boutique defense firm, Napier Gault, PLC (which eventually grew to become Napier Gault Schupbach & Stevens, PLC). Patrick’s reputation in the highly-specialized field of mass/toxic tort defense was unmatched. Respected by lawyers on both sides of his cases, he accumulated numerous professional accolades, including being named 2013 Mass Tort Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers publication.
Patrick was admired not only for his sharp legal mind, but for his humor, integrity, and kindness. He was a devoted father, colleague, and friend whose impact on this firm—and on everyone who knew him—will be remembered always.
